VIDEO: HOW TO FRONT CARRY WITH THE ERGOBABY CARRIER
FRONT CARRY STEPS
Buckle the waist strap around your waist with the carrier hanging in front of you
Place your baby to your chest in an open leg position
While holding your baby with your right hand, place the left shoulder strap over your left shoulder
With your hand on the outside of the carrier, hold your baby with your left hand, and place the right shoulder strap over your right shoulder.
Reach over your head with both hands, buckle the chest strap, and adjust the chest strap to ensure the shoulder straps are securely positioned on both shoulders. By reaching over your head, the shoulder straps will stay securely on your shoulders while you are buckling the chest strap. (If you find it difficult to buckle the chest strap, you may need to raise the chest strap on the runner and loosen the shoulder straps. Once the chest strap is buckled, tightening the shoulder straps will lower the chest strap on your back to a more comfortable position.)
After buckling the chest strap, tighten the chest strap until it is comfortable for you and your baby.
Tighten the shoulder straps as necessary by pulling the webbing towards your baby.
The baby's position should be checked regularly to make sure that the baby is properly seated in the carrier, centered with legs extended and head upright and not slumping downward or to the side.
You should be able to kiss the top of your baby's head (and we recommend doing this often).
TO REMOVE YOUR CHILD FROM THE FRONT CARRY POSITION
Loosen the shoulder straps slightly (this raises the chest strap up and makes it easier to unbuckle).
While securely holding your baby with one hand, reach back with the other hand unbuckle the chest strep.
Hold your child as you remove each shoulder strap.
Remove your child from the carrier before unbuckling the waist strap. Never unbuckle the waist strap while your child is in the carrier.
